The Specialty CoffeeAssociation  is a non-profit organization representing thousands of coffee professionals around the world, from coffee farmers to baristas.

The Coffee Skills Program (CSP) is organized by the SCA and offers practical training exclusively by Authorized SCA Trainers (ASTs) in all levels of your professional development.

Diploma

The program comprises six different modules: the first, introductory course (Introduction to Coffee) is only available in one level, with an additional five courses to choose from: Barista Skills, Brewing, Green Coffee, Roasting and Sensory Skills.

Each of these five modules is available at three different levels, each of which corresponds to a predefined amount of points. You may choose the modules that best fit your interests and needs. Upon collecting 100 points,
you will be awarded the
 SCA Coffee Skills Diploma.

INTRODUCTION TO COFFEE

Introduction to Coffee is an ideal module for individuals who are new to the coffee industry, or anyone simply interested in this wonderful drink. The module follows the journey of coffee throughout history, from its origins in Ethiopia until its modern role as a major commodity enjoyed by millions of people around the world. From coffee processing, roasting or brewing to tasting, it offers a general overview of coffee supply chain. This half-day module also includes a “coffee cupping” session where you will have the opportunity to taste the various flavors of coffee.

BARISTA SKILLS FOUNDATION

This module focuses on the key skills required to set a grinder, make espresso or foam and texture milk for cappuccinos. It introduces participants to the basics of coffee itself and lays the foundations for building practical skills regarding milk techniques and latte art, while implementing health and safety practices and customer service.

BREWING FOUNDATION

Learn about the various coffee-brewing methods and the parameters that determine its quality. This module offers hands-on learning on grind profiles, brewing methods, measuring coffee strength and charting the extraction of a coffee.

The Kofi Seminars are founded on our yearlong knowledge and experience in the field of coffee, their structure offering practical knowledge in roasting and the specialized preparation of beverages.

Latte art basic level

This seminar offers insight into the basic principles of coffee-based latte art and its historical evolution until the present. 

LATTE ART advanced LEVEL

This seminar offers insight into various techniques and combinations towards complex latte art creations.
